Here’s the first monthly round-up from season! We have over 550 fantasy teams registered for 2019 and, several weeks into the fantasy league season, we’ve named the first Manager of the Month, and the April All-Star Team. There’s been some stand-out performances from Major Leaguers already and there’s still a couple of free agent pitching stars without a Major League team! (starter Dallas Keuchel and closer Craig Kimbrel). Scroll down for the round-up.

FBUK All-Star Team of the Month: April
Based on fantasy points accumulated, here’s the month’s top performers at each position:
Fantasy Manager of the Month: April
Well done to Rupert Russell, who won’t be feeling Blue as winner of the first Manager of the Month title of the season! His team Blue Through And Through totalled the most fantasy points for the calendar month of April. Rupert wins an Oyo MLB minifigure for his efforts. Thanks to BaseballSoftballUK for supporting our prizes. There’s five more Manager of the Month awards up for grabs between now and the end of September!
Fantasy League Standings (top): Up to 18 May
Seven weeks into the season, George Driscoll’s Lu-Croydon Angels top the tree in a tightly-packed Main Game (at the time of writing). April’s Manager of the Month, Rupert Russell (Blue Through And Through) sits in the top ten along with two other teams who were among the top five managers in April (Carry On My Heyward Son and Just Another Bunt). Last year’s runner-up, Ludo Basse is currently in 16th while it appears the 2018 champion, Brian Hastie is taking a year off from the game (correct us if we’re wrong, Brian!).
In the $5m Game, Kev Mesher’s The Brad Penny Pinchers lead the way. The team finished sixth last season. The 2017 double champion in the Main and $5m Games, Brian Matthews, is in second place with Scioscialessly Unhappy. Last year’s winner, Stuart Burnett’s The 5 Million Dollar Men are currently 12th.
Andy Vaughan’s Vultures have soared to the top of the Limited Trade Game, while Wayne Mason’s A Frican Elephant has stamped it’s claim on second place for now, with a 100-point gap over third place and the rest of the pack. Last year’s winner, Keith Jeffery, is currently in 15th with Atlantic Crossing but also in third in the Main Game with Red Rocks In Sedona.
It’s a long old season, so there’s still a lot to play for between now and when the FBUK champions will be crowned at the end of the MLB regular season on 29 September.
