We’ve ridden the UK summer heat wave into the All-Star Break and with a few days off before the second half of the Major League Baseball season gets underway, it’s the perfect time for a Fantasy Baseball UK update.

The MLB All-Star Game takes place on Tuesday 17 July in Washington, D.C. then the regular season schedule resumes in earnest on Friday.
FBUK All-Star Team of the Month: June
Based on fantasy points accumulated, here’s the month’s top performers at each position:
* Rhys Hoskins and Andrew Benitendi (Boston Red Sox) were tied on 184 fantasy points but Hoskins achieved it in fewer games (20 games compared to Benitendi’s 27).
June’s Fantasy Baseball UK All-Star Team features six players that have made the official American League and National League All-Star squads (Altuve, Bauer, Diaz, Goldschmidt, Realmuto and Story).
The Houston Astros had three players in the FBUK All-Star Team including the two players tied for the most RBI in June (30), Alex Bregman and Evan Gattis. Bregman was named the official AL Player of the Month, batting .306 with 11 home runs and 24 runs scored.
Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt was named NL Player of the Month, batting .364, tallying the most hits in June among all players (37). He also notched eight doubles, a triple and 10 home runs, plus 17 walks.
Trevor Bauer (Cleveland Indians) broke Max Scherzer’s run of back-to-back FBUK All-Star Team appearances in April and May to take the starting pitcher spot. In six games in June, Bauer recorded three wins and 62 strikeouts, going into double figures on four occasions.
Seattle Mariners closer Edwin Diaz made the FBUK All-Star Team for the second time this season. He earned the save 12 times in 14 opportunities during the month, with 20 strikeouts in 15 innings pitched.
Fantasy Manager of the Month: June
Fantasy Manager of the Month, Donnie Annan, will be in high spirits after his team, Gordon’s Djinn, enjoyed a magical June to amass the most points in the month.
Three teams were tied in second spot, only seven points behind the leader, ranging from Average Joes, who topped Manager of the Month in May and sit fourth overall in the Main Game, to Daffy Duck’s Finest, 37th overall but second in the Rockies division. Two successive finishes in the top five teams of the month saw Boab’s Braves rise to first place overall in the Main Game on 13 July.
Fantasy League Standings (Top 10): Up to 14 July
With the All-Star Break imminent, Stuart Burnett (The 5 Million Dollar Men) and Keith Jeffery (Atlantic Crossing) have consolidated the leads they’ve built over the first half of the season in the $5m and Limited Trade Games respectively. It’s a closer affair in the Main Game, where Ludo Basse (Stantonomore), the back-to-back champion in 2015-16, has a narrow lead over a tight chasing pack jostling for position.
